Here is the line to get into Sony's pre-show area. Yep there is a pre-show to get into the booth.

Inside this area they showcased all of their new products including new memory stick devices, HDTV and I-link (IEEE 1394 or firewire) See below for more details.

Ok what exactly is I-link? I-link is a name for IEEE 1394 or firewire, a new way to connect all your devices together so they can talk to each other. No more dissimilar cables, and everything talks to everything else. Video cameras, TVs, DVDs, Dish, and computers can all talk to each other with just one connection.

Other vendors were showing IEEE 1394 devices all with different names, hopefully all the devices from all vendors will still talk to each other.

Want HDTV? Well Sony has six new ones coming out over the next year, three 16:9 and three 4:3.

Ready for portable take anywhere, store everything memory. Well then you are ready for Memory Stick.

In addition to the new Memory Stick Walkman, Sony was showing Memory Stick DV cameras, digital cameras, computers, voice recorders, and even picture frames. Available in 8,16,32,and 64 meg sticks, the future holds even higher capacities 128, 256 and even 1 Gig. And guess who just signed a deal to use memory sticks in some of  their future vehicles...

Abio

The name is Japanese for friend.  Abio is Sony's "digital dog" that actually learns as it "grows". It starts as a puppy barely able to crawl and then learns as it goes.

Looking for a satellite dish that does HDTV, Internet and more. This 24 inch dish from Sony will deliver.

Portable DVD Players are everywhere at CES and Sony is no exception.
