Welcome to Yanman.com's coverage of the 2004 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Thin is in at CES this year with every display manufacturer touting plasma, LCD, or DLP projection and in some cases all three. A number of them have even gone so far as to abandon large rear projection sets entirely; a move that many others feel may be premature. Whether you are looking for an ultra-thin hang on the wall plasma screen, an ultra-large DLP projector at a smaller price, or for an ultra-bright LCD TV to fit any space, we have news to fit your needs. Look in our vendor specific information for more details. As in years past the DVR market is still in the mix, with more brands and more options then ever before. With the leader in this space, TIVO once again sets the bar at meteoric heights. From the old standards, to DVRs with built in DVD recording and HD versions, once again there is something for everyone. See our piece entitled “Everything you need to know about DVR” for more details. Another extremely hot technology at this show is VOIP or Voice Over IP, allowing users to use the internet as their phone company and reduce or eliminate their long distance phone costs. While this technology has been hyped for a while, it is just now coming to fruition, with quality issues and concerns over easy of use being addressed. See “VOIP a reality or disconnect?” for more. Last but not at all least we have one again arranged to get our hands on some of the latest and hottest gadgets in the industry, bluetooth wireless headsets, DLP projectors, speakers, power management, AV furniture and so much more, keep coming back to Yanman.com for all the buzz.
