DVD Review - Deep Blue Sea

"Did someone order the fish?"

Humans have a strange fascination with the sea and the creatures that inhabit it; this extends of course to one of nature's most efficient killers, sharks. Steven Spielberg scared us the first time in 1978 with Jaws and now Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger, Die Hard 2) tries again with Deep Blue Sea. The sharks are better, meaner, and even smarter, but still look a little fake. With an unbelievably clean picture, a heart stopping soundtrack, and some extras to sink your teeth into, this DVD will not leave you high or dry. Read our complete review...

Thaw fish, if frozen. Cut fish 1-inch thick. Place in a shallow dish. For marinade, stir together 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce, 2 tablespoons Whiskey, 1 teaspoon grated gingerroot, 1 clove garlic, mustard, and brown sugar. Pour marinade over fish. Turn fish to coat with marinade. Cover and marinate for 30 minutes (or in the refrigerator for 1 hour), turning the steaks occasionally.

Drain Fish, reserving marinade. Drain pineapple chunks, reserving 3 tablespoons of juice. Cut fish into strips. In a large frying pan or wok combine fish, marinade, remaining garlic, peppers, pineapple chunks and juice. Fry until fish is completely  cooked. Serve over bed of rice. Serves four.
