102 Dalmatians

DVD Review by Joe

"We need 102. This time I want a hooded spotted puppy coat."

A Dalmatian puppy with no spots, a bird that thinks he is a dog, and a woman who seems just too evil to be human. Add theses things together and you get a sequel to a live action remake of a Disney classic animated feature. Some sequels tend to disappoint but have no fear Disney pulls this one off.

Welcome to the wonderful fictitious world of modern rehabilitation. Our story begins with the release of one completely rehabilitated Cruela De vil. A doctor with an amazing new rehab technique has the evil Cruela playing with Dalmatian puppies and being nice to everyone. Enter our parole officer with a weakness she is a dog lover, a Dalmatian owner no less and just to top it off one of her dogs is a grown up abducted puppy from the original 101. So by fate and a little bit of plotting our parole officer is brought together with another dog lover. As Cruela gets her passion for designing coats back she chases the puppies with a new passion and holds back no evil. Does our spotless puppy get her spots? Does our bird-dog get his wings. Well you'll see.

Presented in near flawless Anamorphic Widescreen (1.85:1) this picture was too good to even try to mention any flaws. The sound is clean and provided in both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 Surround sound. The special features are interesting but several are hard to navigate and slow, possibly do to layering.

Well if you liked 101 Dalmatians this one does it 1 better. It is a great sequel but is one that you should really see the original first. So grab the kids and all other loved ones, get in front of the TV and watch this new probably someday Disney Classic. Remember to not let your dogs see Cruela they could go crazy so you may not want to trust the G rating they don't rate movies for dogs just people "Oh, but dogs are people too".
