"Doesn't anybody die any more?" "God created man in His own image, and behold, it was good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. GENSIS 1.27,31 The above quote from the bible is the bases for the name of this movie, and is what is on the screen as it opens. And as God created man on the sixth day, in the near future man may have the ability to clone himself. We have already started passing laws like the sixth day laws against cloning in this film. Will cloning humans ever happen? If it does, we can only hope that they start cloning action stars like Schwarzenegger and fun Sci-Fi scripts like The 6th Day. When Adam Gibson (Arnold Schwarzenegger) a helicopter pilot some time in the near future, wakes up on his birthday he has no idea what kind of day he is in for. His second charter for the day is VIP booking Michael Drucker (Tony Goldwyn) the multimillionaire owner of Replacement Technologies. This first problem happens when Adam's partner Hank replaces him as pilot for the trip without notifying the security team and the rest of the day is all down hill from there. Other then a small amount of transferred film dirt and the slightest amount of grain, the anamorphic 2.35:1 widescreen video looks very good. The future of our world may not look clean and bright, but at least the video quality here is. The audio quality offered by this 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtrack mix is above average, offering pure vocals and deep bass. This is a very active soundtrack offering great sound from the surrounds during many of the chase scenes etc. There are not really a lot of extras here to talk about. Extras that are included here are limited to a commentary by the composer with an Isolated Music Score and some RePet Infomercials. We would have really liked to have seen more here. Is cloning bad? That is not something that we have enough information
about yet. Is the 6th day a good movie? We think so. Arnold gets back to
his roots as an action star, the story is solid and the DVD looks and
sounds great. Some have commented that this movie looks a lot like
"Total Recall", but trust us it is no clone. And on the seventh
day…
