"Ditto" "The greatest love story ever told", this comment, made many times about many different movies, just may be the only way to describe the beloved film Ghost. If by some rare chance you have never seen this "new classic", rush right out and get this one as soon as you can, you won't be disappointed. Long time fans will also be pleased by this better then average DVD offering. When Sam Wheat (Patrick Swayze), is killed in an apparent mugging, he leaves behind Molly Jensen (Demi Moore) the long time love of his life. Or does he? You see Sam is "trapped" here on this world for some reason, but the question is why. With the help of a slightly unscrupulous, physic Oda Mae Brown (Whoopi Goldbergh in a role that won her an Academy Award), Sam seeks out his killers and tries to protect Molly. Will he succeed? And what will happen if he does? Video quality on this eleven-year-old film, was much better then expected, certainly better then any other version to date. Presented in an Anamorphic widescreen format, at an aspect ratio of 1.85:1. Although there are a limited number of artifacts and a slight amount of film grain, the video is very clean otherwise. For the first time you can now here this inspired soundtrack in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround. While a remastered soundtrack is never as active as one created from the start to be 5.1, this one is still very good and achieves a better then average rating. Don't look too hard for a long list of extras here, because you won't find that. What you will find however, is a short list of quality extras, including our favorite the director's commentary. With Jerry Zucker (Airplane!, Top Secret, etc.) directing, you can be sure that it is worth listen to. The one other "real" extra here is a retrospective Ghost is one of those movies that should be in every movie collection. If you have a significant other, this one will be a great one to pull out whenever the romance needs to be re-energized. If you are single - well lets just say that having this one on the shelve should be mandatory before you ever say "lets just stay in and watch a movie". Go get this DVD now, or I'm going to keep singing until you do. OK I warned you -- I'm Henry the 8th I am. Henry the eighth I am I am. I got married to the widow next door. She's been married seven times before…
