“Space, the final frontier; These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise, its continuing mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before.” Having reviewed the first two seasons of The Next Generation Series here before (Read our review of Season One, and Season Two - posted previously), fans of this site will recognize the essence of this review. Season three again takes the now familiar crew into bold new worlds, continuing there mission as well as there character development. While some team members leave, others like the good doctor Crusher return to help strengthen the core cast. SEASON THREE Episodes include: Evolution 150 9/25/1989 43125.8 The Ensigns of Command 149 10/2/1989 43133.3 The Survivors 151 10/9/1989 43152.4 Who Watches The Watchers? 152 10/16/1989 43173.5 The Bonding 153 10/23/1989 43198.7 Booby Trap 154 10/30/1989 43205.6 The Enemy 155 11/6/1989 43349.2 The Price 156 11/13/1989 43385.6 The Vengeance Factor 157 11/20/1989 43421.9 The Defector 158 1/1/1990 43462.5 The Hunted 159 1/8/1990 43489.2 The High Ground 160 1/29/1990 43510.7 Deja Q 161 2/5/1990 43539.1 A Matter of Perspective 162 2/12/1990 43610.4 Yesterday's Enterprise 163 2/19/1990 43625.2 The Offspring 164 3/12/1990 43657.0 Sins of the Father 165 3/19/1990 43685.2 Allegiance 166 3/26/1990 43714.1 Captain's Holiday 167 4/2/1990 43745.2 Tin Man 168 4/23/1990 43779.3 Hollow Pursuits 169 4/30/1990 43807.4 The Most Toys 170 5/7/1990 43872.2 Sarek 171 5/14/1990 43917.4 Ménage à Troi 172 5/28/1990 43930.7 Transfigurations 173 6/4/1990 43957.2 The Best of Both Worlds, Part I 174 6/18/1990 43989.1 While these episodes are presented in there normal TV aspect ratio, and are not really enhanced in anyway on DVD, using a progressive DVD player and a HDTV or while viewing on a computer, you can view these episodes with better video quality then ever before. Sound quality is also enhanced, being offered for the first time in Dolby Digital 5.1. Fans love extras, and we have a few here, extras include: a mission overview of year two, memorable missions, a crew overview and more. While I doubt that any true fan will have to read a review to help decide whether or not to purchase this fine DVD collection, it gets our highest rating for pure enjoyment. Have the first two seasons on DVD? No reason to ask the question, buy season three today. Just remember this, season three ends in a cliff hanger – meaning you will buy season four, resistance … is … futile!
