Digital Leisure To Release Intriguing Psychological DVD
Thriller: Tender Loving Care.
Long-Awaited Interactive Shocker from the Creators of the 7th
Guest and 11th Hour Wins DVD Awards - Incorporates Player Personality Right
Into Game, Affecting Outcome
GORMLEY, Ontario, CanadaFebruary 9, 1999 -- It is the story of a desperate
triangle of power, lust and intrigue.
A noteworthy psychologist unraveling an enigma, his beautiful and tragic patient, her
dangerous husband and the mysterious, sensual psychotherapist who turns their world upside
down. Add in two-time Oscar nominee and acclaimed British actor John Hurt (Alien, Contact,
Elephant Man) and you have all the elements needed for a top Hollywood Blockbuster.
But you wont find this psychological thriller in any of the theaters.
This movie is interactive, and designed for a moviegoing audience of one.
And this time, youre the director.
Digital Leisure announces the long-anticipated release of Aftermath Medias Tender
Loving Care, based on the novel by Andrew Neiderman (Devils Advocate) and designed
by the visionaries behind the award-winning 7th Guest and 11th Hour.
TLC is available now on DVD-ROM. TLC is unique in that is truly a movie - shot on 35mm
film with state-of-the-art sound, video and special effects - a game, and an accurate
psychological exam. By responding to questions about the characters, and some personal
ones as well, Dr. Turner (Hurt) uses the Thematic Apperception (personality) Test - your
answers are integrated directly into the game, and later used to affect character
situations and the dramatic ending.
Watch the story unfold. Investigate the environment by reading intimate diaries,
collecting phone messages and Email. Hear the characters reveal their darkest secrets.
Its just the kind of thing the TLC creators were looking for when they became the
first to successfully blend high-end movie production with the enhanced entertainment
value of interactivity. TLC creators Rob Landerous and David Wheeler, who wrote and
directed the game, said the game was created specifically for DVD.
"Unlike every other so-called interactive movie makers, we created a movie
experience and made it interactive as opposed to adding movie content to a computer
game," Wheeler said. "Since Tending Loving Care was created specifically for the
DVD, we made sure it takes full advantage of the dramatic leap DVD provides in video,
sound and overall experience. We set an industry standard years ago with the 7th
Guest and 11th Hour. We set one again with TLC. Realism, and attention to
quality, conspire to draw the gamer into this mysterious and enveloping world, which is
truly interactive - evolving itself based on your specific personality!"
David Foster, General Manager of Digital Leisure - which released the first
fully-interactive game for DVD Video in the arcade-classic Dragons Lair and also has
Space Ace, Dragons Lair II and A Fork in the Tale in the companys DVD library
- said publishing a top title like TLC fits perfectly with the high quality DVD titles
they are releasing. The Tender Loving Care DVD-ROM recently won the first place DVD Gold
Award at an event sponsored by the International Compact Disc Interactive Association
(ICDIA) and Interactive Digital Media Association (IDMA), and captured the first place
Creative Excellence Award at the DVD Pro Conference.
The company expects to release TLC for DVD-ROM and CD-ROM in early March.
Digital Leisure is a leading publisher of interactive DVD-ROM and
DVD-Video titles. The company acquires and remasters existing
video-intensive titles that would benefit from the superior video and audio
quality of DVD. The company can be contacted at

CYBERSPACE - December 18, 1998 -- Legendary animators Don Bluth and Gary Goldman - whose
accomplishments stretch from award-winning animated features such as An American Tail and

questions in an online chat on Yahoo Friday, December 18 at 8 p.m. EST. The conference can

DVD Movie Player because Gary and I have always tried to push the limits of
animation," Bluth said. Bluth began at Disney (1955) as an "Inbetweener"
and moved up to Assistant Animator on the animated classic, Sleeping Beauty. He later
returned as an Animator and worked on Robin Hood (1973) and as a Directing Animator on
Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too (1974) and the Rescuers (1976). He was Director of
animation on Petes Dragon (1977) and Producer/Director of the Disney featurette
"The Small One" (1978). Goldman, a Directing Animator, who left Disney with
Bluth to start their own company in Bluth's garage in 1979, worked with Bluth on their
first major independent film, The Secret of Nimh. In late 1982, Bluth and Goldman met with
Rick Dyer and began work on the now classic Dragons Lair (1983) and followed it up
with Space Ace (Nov 1983) and Dragons Lair II: Time Warp (1989). Bluth and Goldman
collaborated with Steven Spielberg on An American Tail (1986) and The Land Before Time
(1988) which opened to a record-breaking weekend gross of $7.5 million. After the
Spielberg relationship, Bluth and Goldman went on to produce and direct All Dogs Go To
Heaven (1989), Rock-A-Doodle (1990), A Troll in Central Park (1992), Thumbelina (1993) and
most recently, 20th Century Foxs first animated film, Anastasia (1997).

LEGIONNIARE FILM SYNOPSIS
Legionnaire, the powerful and visually-spectacular new film
from prolific producer Edward R. Pressman (The Crow, Street Fighter, Wall Street) starring
Jean-Claude Van Damme (Knock Off, TimeCop, Universal Soldier), is an epic adventure of one
mans journey into danger and redemption. Mixing the glitter and danger of
1920s Marseilles with the turbulence and disorder of colonial Morocco, Legionnaire
is a suspenseful story of survival set against an explosive war saga and a compelling
portrait of a group of men searching for new beginnings beyond their own broken dreams.
During the 1920s, the celebrated Legion Etrangere (French Foreign Legion) provided a
convenient refuge for a countless number of men anxious to escape their past, with few
questions asked. On a mysterious personal quest, Alain Lefevre (Van Damme) enlists in the
elite military group, famous for their toughness and dogged determination, and is
stationed in colonial Morocco with a diverse band of new recruits. United in brotherhood
through their desire to begin new lives, these men first endure a rigorous and cruel
training in order to become a hardened fighting brigade. Sent on a desperate mission to a
remote desert outpost, the Legionnaires soon learn the terrifying reality of war.
Directed by Peter MacDonald (Mo Money, Rambo III), Legionnaire co-stars Steven
Berkoff (Beverly Hills Cop, Outland), Jim Carter (The Madness of King George, Richard
III), Nicholas Farrell (Kenneth Branaghs Hamlet, Othello) and Adewale
Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, Congo).
The original screenplay for Legionnaire was written by Sheldon Lettich (Bloodsport,
Rambo III, Delta Force 2) and Rebecca Morrison, based on a concept developed over several
years by Van Damme and Lettich. Douglas Milsome (Oscar-nominee for Stanley Kubricks
Full Metal Jacket, Last of the Mohicans) served as director of photography with Ivan
Sharrock (an Academy AwardÒ winner for his work on Bernardo Bertoluccis The Last
Emperor) as sound mixer. Sheldon Lettich and Christian Halsey Solomon are executive
producers.

Digital Leisure Releases Dragons Lair DVD-Video
One of the Best-Selling Arcade Games of All Time
Now Available for DVD movie players
GORMLEY, Ontario, Canada November 6, 1998 -- Until now, most people were under
the impression that their DVD movie player was designed to only play movies. But Digital
Leisure has added a whole new dimension to the DVD experience. Digital Leisure today
announced the release of the first fully interactive game, the arcade smash Dragons
Lair, for DVD movie players. As the first animated video game in history, Dragons
Lair features non-stop video action. Using the remote control from the DVD movie player,
game enthusiasts can guide Dirk the Daring, a valiant knight, through the enchanted castle
of an evil wizard encountering treacherous monsters and obstacles until he reaches the
final confrontation with the evil dragon Singe in the Dragons Lair.
Dragons Lair, the classic laser-disc based arcade game, features spectacular
quality animation created by Don Bluth, a former Disney animator famous for his work on An
American Tail, The Land Before Time and he also co-directed the more recent blockbuster
Anastasia. In addition to the fully playable game, the Dragons Lair DVD-Video
release contains exclusive interviews with Bluth and Rick Dyer, co-creator and designer of
the game. A special "Watch" option allows players to view the entire game
without requiring moves on the DVD remote. Dragons Lair redefined the gaming
industry in the 1980s, is one of three games in the Smithsonian Institute (the other two
being Pac Man and Pong) and has sold well over 1,000,000 units on home computer and video
game consoles.
"People will be amazed when they see what can be done with DVD," Elizabeth
Foster, president of Digital Leisure said. "Many DVD-Video owners dont realize
the hidden capabilities that are built into their machines. Dragon s Lair, possibly
the most complex DVD-Video title authored to date, makes use of real-time decision making
and user input to determine the flow of the game. Add this to the exceptional video and
audio qualities of DVD and Dragons Lair will surely raise the standard of customer
expectations."
Following the release of Dragons Lair, Digital Leisure plans to release Space Ace
and Dragons Lair II: Time Warp for DVD-Video in early 1999.Dragons Lair is
also available on DVD-ROM and CD-ROM formats.Digital Leisure is a leading publisher of
